CFM56-5B engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma Moteurs (France) and General Electric Company. CFM, celebrating its 30th anniversary, is the world's leading supplier of commercial aircraft engines with more than 14,300 in service.

November 15, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- GE Transportation's marine gas turbine operations will supply Samsung Techwin Co. Ltd., Seoul, Korea with 12 LM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines. The Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy will use the gas turbines for its next-generation KDX Type III destroyer.
