February 01, 2005 -- Evendale, OHIO -- GE Transportation - Aircraft Engines, through Unison Industries, LLC, has completed its acquisition of Aircraft Parts Corporation (APC), following receipt of all required regulatory approvals. The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, was completed on January 31, 2005.
GE Infrastructure's GE Fanuc Automation division has announced Proficy Plant Applications Version 4.1, a major new version of the company's Efficiency, Quality, Production and Batch Analysis software.
This adds powerful new capabilities to reduce overall implementation time with improved ease of use and configuration, enhanced reporting, improved connectivity and extensibility, and more expansive scheduling execution and production tracking.

Since February 2005, a GE water purification plant has been producing approximately 430,000 liters of clean and safe water per day, benefiting tens of thousands of people. GE transports it daily to local hospitals, orphanages and other vulnerable populations in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. USAID is working with GE and other partners in camps to set up water and sanitation systems and to promote good hygiene and health care. Child deaths and disease are being avoided by promoting simple hand washing and basic hygiene, and by maintaining a supply of clean and safe water.
