GE Energy To Support Expansion of Geothermal Plant In El Salvador

FLORENCE, ITALY, May 18, 2005: -- GE Energy, working with Enel of Italy, has received a turnkey contract to supply a steam turbine and additional balance-of-plant equipment for the expansion of a geothermal generating plant at Berlin in the province of Usulatan, El Salvador. The facility is located 112 kilometers east of El Salvador's capital city, San Salvador.

Separately, GE Energy has signed a letter of intent with ENEX hf of Iceland to supply a Rotoflow expander package for the geothermal binary cycle of the same facility.

May 17, 2005 -- GE Honda Aero Engines LLC has recently completed component and engine core tests to validate several new enhancements to the performance of its HF118 turbofan engine for light business aircraft.
GE Honda Aero Engines LLC is a 50/50 joint venture company formed in late 2004 to manufacture and market the HF118 family of commercial turbofan engines ranging in thrust from 1,000 to 3,500 pounds. The initial HF118 engine will be rated in the 1,700-pound-thrust class.

Orders, Production for CF34 Engine Remain Strong Over Next Two Years

May 17, 2005 -- CINCINNATI, Ohio - General Electric Company (GE) expects approximately 900 orders for its CF34 engine family over the next two years.
In addition, GE plans to deliver 450 CF34 engines in both 2005 and 2006, with the majority being the higher-thrust CF34-8 and CF34-10 models for the new larger regional aircraft.
Deliveries for the CF34 engine family have exceeded 400 engines every year since 2002.
