July 18, 2005 -- Huerth, Germany - General Electric Company has signed a definitive agreement with Welch Allyn to acquire Everest VIT, Inc. (EVIT), a remote industrial visual inspection technologies subsidiary. The transaction, terms of which are not being disclosed, will be completed upon receipt of the various regulatory approvals. EVIT will become part of GE Inspection Technologies, headquartered in Huerth, Germany.
