EVENDALE, OHIO -- September 25, 2006: Qatar Airways has ordered 40 high-thrust GE90 engines to power 20 longer-range Boeing 777s in an engine order valued at more than $750 million (USD).
Qatar Airways ordered 14 777-300ERs, powered by the GE90-115B; and six 777-200LR Worldliners, powered by the GE90-110B. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2007.
HOUSTON, TEXAS - September 25, 2006 :- GE's Oil & Gas business has secured the first order for its new PGT25+G4 high-speed power turbine module, with Alliance Pipeline Limited Partnership of Calgary, Alberta.
The first G4 turbine module will be coupled with the enhanced LM2500+G4 gas generator from GE Energy's aeroderivative engine business and will be installed at Alliance's Windfall Compressor Station in Whitecourt, Alberta, replacing an existing unit at the site.

GE Water will pump in $130m
in a collaboration with NUS
GLOBAL giant General Electric's water treatment arm is pumping a record $130 million into a local R&D plant, the biggest investment by a multinational into water research here to date.
The facility, collaboration with the National University of Singapore to develop better and cheaper water treatment processes, will also be GE Water and Process Technologies' global research headquarters.
SAN JOSE, Calif. & STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 2006--The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York today approved the sale of a 35-percent equity interest in Calpine Corporation's (OTC Pink Sheets:CPNLQ) Russell City Energy Center to GE Energy Financial Services for approximately $44 million. Calpine will own the remaining 65-percent interest. GE Energy Financial Services' equity will be applied toward completion of development and construction of the power plant, and it also will provide related credit support for the project.
