New division to focus on delivering advanced LED lighting solutions
Dubai, UAE; June 12, 2011: GE Lighting has appointed Diederik de Stoppelaar as Director of the company's new commercial organization - Luminaire Solutions. Diederik will lead a team of industry experts to provide effective lighting design and specification assistance to end users across a number of key market segments.
Dammam, Saudi Arabia; May 17, 2011: With less than a month to go to the opening of the GE Energy Manufacturing Technology Center, employees of GE in the Kingdom are looking forward to the educational and hands-on training prospects that the facility will offer.
The Center further expands GE's local job creation and training commitment to Saudi Arabia and is the largest GE turbine repair center of its kind in the world, which will enhance local Saudi repair and service capabilities.
- GE supplies power generation equipment and services for four Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) expansion projects
- Expansion projects adding 1,680 MW to meet 50% of SEC's annual target increase
- SEC fast-track power plant expansions to address the Kingdom's peak summer power demand
GE announced strong first-quarter 2011 operating earnings of $3.6 billion, up 58%, or $0.33 per share, up 65%, from the first quarter of 2010.
