GE Rail announces that a series of winter and summer operational tests on OAO Russian Railways of its modernized 2TE10 locomotive is completed. After a test report is issued by VNIKTI and the results are reviewed with OAO RZhD it is anticipated that decisions on future development will be taken.
Under the terms of a new, long-term cooperative agreement between GE Transportation - Aircraft Engines and NPO Saturn, NPO Saturn has begun testing GE and CFM commercial engines. Testing of the first engine, a CFM56-5B, was initiated on July 19 in test cell 26 at the NPO Saturn facility at Rybinsk, Russia
CFM56 engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company of Snecma of France and General Electric.
