Sixth Deployment of GE’s Digital Power Plant Solutions in the Country, Highlighting Pakistan as an Early Adopter of Digital Industrial Solutions

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.-June 9, 2016-GE (NYSE: GE) has signed a contract with Hubco to provide its digital industrial solutions for the 1,292-megawatt (MW) Hubco power plant in Baluchistan, Pakistan. Commissioned in 1997, the plant operates four 323-MW generating units. Additionally, it’s the largest independent steam power plant in Pakistan and exports power to the national grid.

BADEN, SWITZERLAND-April 11, 2016-Today, GE (NYSE: GE) announced a deal with China Machinery Engineering Corp (CMEC) to supply two 330-megawatt (MW) boilers to Engro Powergen Thar (Private) Limited, CMEC’s joint venture with Pakistan companies for the Thar Block II Power Plant. The deal will support Pakistan’s move to use its ample coal reserves in the Thar Desert to meet power generation needs, spur economic development and bring energy security to the country.
