New Delhi July 17, 2014-- Jet Airways, India's premier international airline extended its OnPointSM solution agreement with GE Aviation for an additional five years on the fleet of GE90 engines that power the airline's Boeing 777- 300ER. The extension, valued at more than $200 million (USD), ensures GE will provide the maintenance, repair and overhaul of 22 GE90 engines through 2022.

SpiceJet becomes the first Indian operator to receive Flight Efficiency Services
Farnborough, UK - July 15th , 2014 -- SpiceJet Airlines has selected GE's Flight Efficiency Services (FES) to support its fleet of 52 Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft. GE will provide flight data analytics and fuel management to optimize the airline's operational efficiency with the goal of substantially reducing fuel expenses for the airline.
Bangalore, July 1st 2014 -- Munesh Makhija has been appointed Managing Director, GE India Technology Center and Chief Technology Officer, GE India. Effective immediately, he takes over this role from Dr. Gopichand Katragadda who is leaving GE. Munesh, who will be based at the John F. Welch Technology Center in Bangalore, will lead GE's R&D efforts in India and carry forward the technology legacy of the center, which is GE's first and largest integrated multidisciplinary Research and Development Center.
GE announced first-quarter 2014 operating earnings of $3.3 billion, with operating earnings per share of $0.33, down 15% from the first quarter of 2013. Excluding the 2013 NBCUniversal impact and restructuring and other charges, operating EPS was up 9% from the year-ago period.
