Global GHG Innovation Challenge recognizes four winners
Calgary, Canada, February 3, 2015 - GE (NYSE:GE) announced winners from India, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom in the first phase of a $1 million Ecomagination Innovation Challenge. The winning submissions address alternative uses for waste heat in the SAGD (steam assisted gravity drainage) oil extraction process, ultimately reducing GHG emissions.
GE announced fourth-quarter 2014 operating earnings of $5.6 billion, with operating earnings per share of $0.56, up 6% from the fourth quarter of 2013.

Toronto - GE Capital, Canada announced today that it has increased Van-Rob Inc. senior secured credit facility to $91 million. GE Capital, Canada served as lead arranger and administrative agent. The proceeds of the facility will be used for general working capital purposes.
Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Aurora, ON, Van-Rob is a Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturer of large structural assemblies, chassis components and crash energy management systems. It services the major automobile manufacturers from facilities located in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
CHICAGO - Optimism remains high in the recreational vehicle (RV) industry, according to survey results released today by GE Capital’s Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF) business.
Forty-one percent of survey respondents said they expect sales to rise 5 percent to 10 percent next year, and an additional 26 percent expect RV sales to grow 10 percent to 15 percent. This is similar to last year’s sentiment, where 37 percent of respondents thought their sales would grow between 5-10 percent.

Today, GE Canada announced that TransCanada Corporation has awarded GE Canada’s Peterborough motors facility a contract to build customized electrical motors for the company’s Energy East pipeline project. The contract is expected to create 250 jobs within GE and GE’s local supply chain over a 2-year period.
