FEBRUARY 5, 2018 - SHANNON, IRELAND - Telair International AB today announced it has received certification for its new Flexible Loading System™ (FLS) for all current production and in-service Boeing 737 aircraft. The system allows 737 operators to carry containerized cargo (baggage, mail, and parcel freight) in the lower hold of the aircraft, along with bulk-loaded bags.

GECAS has arranged a sale-leaseback along with pre-delivery payment financing for Viva Air in a transaction for ten A320ceo aircraft to be delivered in 2018 and 2019. Viva Air has been a GECAS customer since the inception of VivaColombia six years ago and their fleet is currently comprised entirely of A320ceo aircraft powered by CFM56 engines.

Declan Kelly has been named Chief Commercial Officer for GECAS. In this newly created role, Declan will lead all originations activities for GECAS’ fixed wing aircraft and is responsible for the commercial strategy, building synergy and share practices between GECAS’ regions.

Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services, a division of the Ethiopian Airlines Group, has committed to lease the first two Boeing 737-800 freighters (737-800SF) converted by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) from GECAS, with the first delivery expected in June of 2018, followed by a second in January of 2019.
Culminating a 20-year history of new orders for the type, GECAS has received its 394th and final skyline order of Boeing’s Next Generation 737. Just over a month prior to Boeing delivering its first 737 MAX to GECAS in January, the lessor took delivery of its final skyline NG order last week.

GECAS is taking delivery of MSN 7803 from Tianjin, China on 25th of October 2017. Leased to AirAsia, this aircraft is the first A320neo from the Tianjin Airbus factory for both AirAsia and GECAS. AirAsia currently has a fleet of 184 delivered aircraft from Airbus, and seven on lease from GECAS.
The Airbus Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Tianjin is the first to operate outside of Europe and is designed based on the state-of-the-art A320 Family FAL in Hamburg, Germany.
