Shipping News: How Lean Management Is Helping GE Keep Tabs On A Growing Wind Turbine Fleet

GE has placed lean management at the heart of its strategy for success. It applied lean principles, which originated in Japan in the second half of the 20th century,  across the company, using it to turn around a gas turbine factory in South Carolina, a generator plant in New York, and to quickly organize a response to the coronavirus pandemic in the U.K., for example. Lean has also been crucial at GE Renewable Energy, which used it to overhaul how it maintains its ever-expanding fleet of onshore wind turbines in Europe and save tens of millions of dollars along the way. Take a look:
