Multidiscipline-focused LOGIQ F Series designed & developed in India to provide clinicians around the world with an affordable way to enhance patient care
Bangalore, India, NOVEMBER 25, 2013 - GE Healthcare, (NYSE: GE), announced today the launch of new LOGIQ Forward Series ultrasound systems designed and developed in India, for the world. The new LOGIQ improves affordability of a high performance ultrasound system by 30% while incorporating established high performance capabilities from GE's flagship ultrasound systems.
Announcing the LOGIQ Forward series in India, S Ganesh Prasad, Director, Ultrasound said "Technology plays a key role in making quality care more accessible and affordable. The LOGIQ F6 and F8 is a perfect fusion of cutting edge tools that are popular currently with our premium ultrasound technologies like LOGIQ, VIVID and Voluson. At GE, we are at work for a healthier India. Clinicians share the same vision; however, many advanced technologies are expensive and out of reach for many of them. We are continuing our journey of innovating low cost solutions in India to provide healthcare a "fast forward" button with LOGIQ Forward".
The new LOGIQ Forward series - LOGIQ F6 and F8, provides clinicians with a less expensive way to diagnose with confidence by using the advantages of advanced and high performance ultrasound. LOGIQ F6 and F8 have in-built innovative tools like Scan Coach, to help clinicians in quick and improved patient diagnosis, faster workflow and decision making. Advanced tools and intuitive protocols help simplify image acquisition and enhance overall image quality, thanks to a powerful combination of features including Phase-Inversion Harmonics and Speckle-Reduction Imaging. The LOGIQ F series is designed for ultra-reliability and comes with a 3 year warranty, thus making it more affordable to clinicians.
"Our goal is to improve the access to high-quality ultrasound technology by delivering solutions that leverage our innovation and are commercialized across a variety of price points that meet the needs of our customers," said Ajay Parkhe, General Manager of Primary Care Ultrasound for GE Healthcare. "With the advanced application and shared services capabilities, the offerings in the LOGIQ F series suite of ultrasound allow healthcare providers to potentially use just one system fitting the clinical needs of various departments and patient types.
Advanced capabilities across the LOGIQ F series platform include:
3D/4D Technology - Easy, quick, reproducible, and less user-dependent than 2D, the 3D/4D technology on the F Series allows clinicians to acquire and display additional anatomical information in a volumetric dataset with High Volume Data. 3D Multi-Planar Imaging provides additional information about fetal anatomy. Utilizing 3D/4D imaging allows users to view and manipulate volumes in sectional planes or in multiple rendering techniques---including transparency, surface, and skeletal---to obtain more information.
Elastography - The LOGIQ F Series uses the compression/decompression technique, displacing the underlying anatomical structures. The system's software estimates the strain of tissue, creates an elastogram and displays a real-time color map of relative elasticity displayed on the B-Mode image.
Auto IMT - Simple and easy to use with minimal keystrokes, Auto IMT automates measurement of the carotid artery's intima-media thickness from multiple samples across a user-defined length.
Scan Coach - Delivering real-time guidance right on the system, Scan Coach helps users obtain the scan plane during image acquisition. This tool may help increase the confidence of beginning ultrasound users and is a handy refresher for all users.
Workflow tools - Ease-of-use tools on the LOGIQ F Series help users reduce scan time and standardize exam protocols and reports. Expertly optimized image settings such as Auto Optimization help healthcare providers to quickly adjust image quality with the touch of a button, while personalized, simple-to-change settings provide flexible exams. In addition, the Scan Assistant customizable scanning program helps decrease keystrokes, shorten exam time, and enhance exam efficiency. Finally, the series offers flexible product configurations with optional intuitive touch screen, 19 inch monitor and articulating arm. The potential results: enhanced productivity, standardized protocols, and additional patient focus.
