ATLANTA, GEORGIA (June 18, 2003) --- GE Network Solutions, a leading supplier of innovative technology solutions, announced the availability of its Smallworld Spatial Intelligence 2.0 software.
Providing an executive view of the network infrastructure combined with business, financial and demographic data, the Smallworld Spatial Intelligence software application is a user-intuitive, yet sophisticated business analysis tool that drives more informed decision-making. Users can add clear meaning to corporate business information by analyzing it in association with the network infrastructure model and visualizing the results in a mapped or tabular format that can be shared throughout the enterprise.
This latest release of the Smallworld Spatial Intelligence application allows users to drag-anddrop spatial data from a host of sources directly from the desktop for further analysis and visualization. This optimizes sales and marketing efforts, through the development of focused, targeted campaigns that result from the analysis of existing network infrastructure, customer profiles, competitive presence and prospective customers.
Users also gain the ability to sketch directly onto map lines, points and polygons, and can simply add notes or highlight asset information. These sketches can be included in queries, analysis, and what-if scenarios allowing the transformation of operational data into information to support forecasting and strategic planning efforts.
New search and go-to tools simplify the process for locating assets across multiple data sets. In addition, further enhancements to analysis, reporting and plotting capabilities enable improved analysis of assets and infrastructure to predict network failure and plan cost effective maintenance schedules.
Jim Robertson, general manager of GE's Automation and Network Solutions business commented, "I'm very excited about this release, given the feedback we've received from customers. By placing our Smallworld Spatial Intelligence 2.0 software in their hands we've given them the ability to not only access information stored anywhere within the enterprise but also provided a system that drives reduced costs, manages growth and allows them to be more competitive in the market place. In short, we've given them a powerful tool to help leverage their data and gain maximum return."
