GE Monogram® Takes Gourmet Cooking Outdoors with New, Advanced Line of Professional Grills

April 30, 2012

  • Redesigned GE Monogram® professional outdoor grills offer all the power and versatility of indoor cooking appliances in an outdoor setting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- April 30, 2012 --- (NYSE: GE) --- As the temperature rises, entertaining guests at home moves from the cozy indoors to outdoor living spaces. But the switch from indoor to out can be challenging for cooking enthusiasts often disappointed by the limitations of outdoor grills. GE Appliances is making the transition smoother with Monogram® professional outdoor grills that have been entirely redesigned and include many unique features, giving backyard cooks the ability to cook nearly anything outdoors.

"According to the Propane Education & Research Council, 64 percent of homeowners report spending more time in their outdoor living spaces than they did a few years ago," says Brian McWaters, brand manager for GE Appliances. "At GE, we understand that with this increase in time outdoors comes a need for innovation in outdoor appliances. We designed every detail and component of our latest Monogram grills to meet consumers' highest standard of quality."

The Monogram grills have an entirely new platform, and options include built-in and free-standing models, in sizes starting from 30" all the way up to the 54" professional grill, which offers more than 1,500 square inches of surface space. The easy ignition activates the grills faster with 125,000 BTUs of power, while the integrated illumination allows for grilling at any time, day or night.

The grills offer many differentiating features, including:

  • Even radiant heat -- The distinctive, stainless steel Gourmet Radiant™ baffle system above U-tube burners sustains even heat distribution across the entire grilling surface and reduces flare-ups from dripping juices.
  • 1,400 degrees of searing power in approximately four minutes -- The 23,000-BTU ceramic infrared searing burner produces an intense, even heat that flash-caramelizes the outside of foods, searing them fast to lock in the most moisture and flavor. The unique adjustable output cooks a wide range of foods with precision, from thick fillets of steak to delicate fish.
  • Hassle-free rotisserie cooking -- A ceramic-infrared rotisserie burner slow-roasts lamb, pork and other meats to succulent perfection.
  • 30,000 BTUs on the side -- A pair of 15,000-BTU side burners offers additional space for preparing side dishes with a sealed burner design that allows quick and easy cleaning.
  • An array of accessories -- The enhanced Monogramprofessional grills offer an array of accessories, including a stainless steel smoker box, removable cutting board, basting pan, stainless steel burner covers and a vinyl cover for weather protection.

Every aspect of the Monogram professional grills, from the stainless steel construction -- sleeker than previous models -- to the hand-finished edges and knob controls, provides an aesthetically pleasing design. The grills are available nationwide where Monogram appliances are sold. Customers can search for the dealer near them on www.monogram.com. MSRP is $1,099 for cooktops, and ranges from $3,499 to $8,299 for free-standing models.*
