GE's New Entellisys Low-Voltage Switchgear Solution provides advanced protection & control for hospitals, airports, corporate data centers, oil and gas plants, manufacturing centres, and water/ wastewater treatment plants
New Delhi, November 13, 2006 - GE Consumer & Industrial today unveiled its latest low-voltage switchgear solution Entellisys™ in India. A major breakthrough in low voltage switchgears, Entellisys™ provides new operational safety features combined with newfound levels of advanced protection, lifetime system flexibility, greater reliability and ease of use.
Ideal for areas prone to power outages, load-shedding and tripping, Entellisys™ is particularly useful in settings like oil and gas plants, healthcare facilities, airports, corporate data centres, manufacturing facilities, and water and wastewater treatment plants. It is an integrated system whose protection, control, monitoring and diagnostics are based on synchronized, real-time information from every circuit breaker, simultaneously processed in one place. The software driven protections can be configured at any time in operation thus giving lifetime flexibility with out any change in hardware.
Samir Inamdar, President & CEO -- GE Consumer and Industrial, India Region said, "Our low-voltage switchgear, Entellisys™, a new generation global solution from GE, provides comprehensive protection, control, monitoring for electrical systems combined with high degree of safety and reliability. Yet Entellisys is as user-friendly as an ATM. It is a generation ahead of many devices in traditional gear with cryptic interfaces and has a very intuitive interface. It has smart components that monitor themselves 24 hours a day. If one of these components detects a potential threat, Entellisys™ sends a warning by pager or email immediately giving the intelligence needed to keep power flowing and to defend people and property."
Unplanned outages are prevented, as Entellisys™ self-monitors all electronic components -- CPUs, Messengers and communication hardware. In the event of any component failure Entellisys enables the back ups to take over and initiates the alarm for customers to plan maintenance at their convenience. The protection, metering and other user functions continue to be available to the user.
"Entellisys™ is unique in its ability to provide all protection, control, monitoring, and diagnostics based on highly accurate information from each circuit, synchronized within microseconds across the system," said Mr Inamdar. "Essentially, it gives users real-time visibility into the power distribution network and the switchgear protecting it -- with powerful backup protections and multiple redundancies."
Users can set as many as 600 different alarm conditions for which Entellisys will send information to designated devices -- Pagers, Mobiles, Computers -- enabling customers to take proactive steps.
Designed with a simple central architecture, its few components and minimal wiring allow a fully redundant system to be installed. Entellisys ensures flawless power to your systems and ensures maximum productivity.
