Building a more sustainable tomorrow

GE Power and GE Renewable Energy are trusted energy partners for India. About half of all power generated, transmitted, and distributed is through GE’s equipment and software.

Power Solutions

Gas-based power plays an important role in driving the growth of communities with flexible, and affordable energy. GE Gas Power has an installed base of over 260 gas turbines in India across utilities and industrial segments. State-of-the-art Steam Power technology and services are implemented in Indian power plants across various fuel sources, including nuclear, coal, oil, biomass, solar and municipal waste. The solutions we offer deliver better performance, greater efficiencies, and improved reliability, all at lower costs by helping customers in their path towards lower-carbon emissions.

Renewable Energy

Over 8 million Indian homes light up using our renewable energy technology across wind and hydropower. The future of India’s and the world’s energy lies in renewables. India aims to reduce the use of fossil fuels in electricity generation and completely switch by 2070 which will lead to achieving its net-zero targets. We are committed to help India achieve this goal.

Decarbonizing the world with innovation that's revolutionary

GE Vernova's mission is embedded in its name. We retain our treasured birthright, “GE,” in our name as an enduring and hard-earned badge of quality and ingenuity. “Ver,” “verde,” “verdant,” all signal Earth’s verdant and lush ecosystems. “Nova,” from the Latin “novus,” nods to a new, innovative era of lower carbon energy that GE Vernova will help deliver.

General Electric
Our renewable portfolio in India is all-encompassing and comprises wind, hydro, new energies, and grid. It combines onshore wind, blades, hydro, and grid solutions as well as hybrid renewables and digital services offerings.

Onshore wind power technology and services help improve cost, capacity, and performance over the life of onshore wind power plants. Our newest turbines leverage a digital infrastructure that allows customers to connect, monitor, predict and optimize unit and wind farm energy performance in real-time.

GE has 11 energy equipment factories in the country spread across the states of Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. Engineers and scientists across five technology centers have been spearheading transformation in the energy transition since the late 1990s.

One example is the 2.7-132 wind turbine that delivers high performance at low wind speeds. These turbines are designed at our Technology Center in Bengaluru, and assembled at the multi-modal manufacturing facility in Pune – a true example of our contribution to the nation’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance) initiative.
