Mahesh Palashikar is the President of GE, South Asia since January 2020. He is responsible for leading GE’s presence across South Asia, including India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. He is focused on enabling GE’s businesses in South Asia to serve Global GE by building strong relationships with stakeholders and understanding market dynamics. He partners with businesses to develop and facilitate the execution of market strategies, shape organization culture, develop talent and manage enterprise risks.

Before his current role, Mahesh led GE’s Onshore Wind Energy business for the Asia Pacific region (including Greater China, Japan, and ANZ) from October 2014. Under his leadership, the region achieved record profitable growth in key markets such as China, Japan, and India.

Mahesh is a 21-year GE veteran who has worked across manufacturing operations, global supply chain, quality, lean six sigma, sales, projects, services, and business management within GE’s Healthcare, Power, and Renewable Energy businesses.

Prior to joining GE in 2000, Mahesh spent more than a decade with Philips Electronics N.V. in their industrial and automotive electronics business in India.

Mahesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a degree in Cost and Management Accounting from India. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from USA. He received GE’s Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification while in the USA.

Mahesh serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) and GE Transmission and Distribution India Ltd (GETDIL). He is on the Global Board of Directors of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) and a Board Member of the US-Bangladesh Business Council. Mahesh is a member of the India Executive Leadership Board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
