Pitamber Shivnani is President & CEO, GE Grid Solutions – South Asia, since January 2020. Prior to joining GE, he was President and Head of ABB India Limited’s USD $500 million Power Grids Division. In this role, Pitamber was responsible for Power Grid’s four business units - Transformers, High Voltage, Grid Automation and Grid Integration. He also headed ABB India’s largest manufacturing facility in Maneja, Vadodara.

Pitamber started his career with ABB in 1987 in the sales and commercial function as manager for the Northern Indian region and held roles of increasing responsibilities across various divisions since then. In 1997, he launched ABB transformers in India and led the sales and supply chain for their Greenfield Transformer Projects till 2005.

In 2005, he assumed the role of Regional Business Unit Manager for ABB’s Transformers division and was instrumental in quadrupling the region’s transformer business in a span of five years. In 2010 he assumed responsibility for ABB India’s Power Products that included three Business Units - Transformers, High Voltage and Medium Voltage - spread across six manufacturing locations throughout India with 19 factories and 3000 employees. Under his leadership ABB Grid’s business grew its manufacturing footprint in India by adding new factories and expanded its product portfolio by adding Ultra High Voltage products.

Pitamber is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee from where he graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1986. He has attended Senior Leadership Development Program from International Institute of Management Development (IMD), Switzerland and Harvard School of Business, USA.

Prashant Jain is Managing Director, GE Power India Limited and Regional General Manager, South Asia for GE Steam Power, effective April 2019. In his previous role at Siemens Limited, he was heading Power Generation Services.

Prashant started his professional career in March 1994. He has diverse experience in the Energy sector including Renewables and has held management positions in Oil & Gas, Power and Renewable energy and has served organizations like Siemens, Schneider Electric.

After gaining sales and business development experience in India and the USA, he spent two years in developing Strategy for the Energy sector, followed by management positions in Turbo Compressor sector, and Renewable energy.

Prashant is an MBA from European School of Management & Technology (ESMT), Berlin and has graduated from Sri Venkateswara University in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Thereafter he attended management programs from reputed institutes like Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad.

Prashant is active in various trade bodies and forums that look at ways to make power generation affordable, sustainable and reliable. He is personally associated with meditation, philosophy and psychology, applying ancient concepts in management for personal and professional development.

Gilan is based in India and leads the South Asia & ASEAN regions for GE Onshore Wind since 2018.

Prior to this role, Gilan was the Business Development (M&A) leader globally for GE Renewable Energy. There he helped define the inorganic growth strategy for the business and successfully negotiated a number of transactions including the acquisition of LM Wind Power for €1.5B in April 2017 from DH Private Equity.

Gilan started his career in energy and infrastructure consultancy London Economics International in Boston and during that time he helped setup Ampersand Energy Partners, a private-equity firm focused on renewables. He then joined Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in their energy & utilities practice in Paris advising IPPs & global utilities. In April 2012, he joined Alstom as Strategy & M&A Director for the Renewable Power division and played an integral part in the integration team on the GE-Alstom merger.

Gilan holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University, Boston and an MBA from HEC, Paris.

As CEO for GE India Technology Centre, Alok Nanda leads 5000+ engineers and scientists across multi-disciplinary R&D labs and industry verticals including Power, Aviation, Healthcare and Renewable Energy. In his role as CTO for GE South Asia, Alok is responsible to drive regional business outcomes through innovative technology solutions for the regional markets.

Prior to his current role, Alok was the Chief Operating Officer at GE India Technology Centre, and General Manager for Engineering in India for GE Aviation. As COO, Alok drove a regionwide technology strategy in partnership with GE’s regional and global business leaders, product leaders and CTOs. His strategic efforts to tie GE ITC’s innovation efforts to GE India’s regional priorities drove a powerful combination of technical expertise and strategic business outcomes.

In his role as General Manager Engineering for Aviation, Alok led a team of talented engineers who provide engineering design, analysis and software solutions for jet engines, components and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. He developed and led an innovative and high-performing team to create deep technical impact across the business, and established a successful Services Engineering organization in the region to support GE’s key customers.

Alok has been with GE for almost two decades and has held engineering and technical leadership positions across Aviation, Power and Global Research. Prior to joining GE, Alok spent eight years in the area of structural design & analysis at the Indian Defense Research & Development Organization.

Alok serves on the AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) Executive Committee - Karnataka, India and is a member of the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council, Expert Group on Technology, & Karnataka State Council.

Alok has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai; and is based in Bangalore, India

Vikram Rai has over 18 years of experience in the civil aerospace sector covering both the airlines and airports domain. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in Commercial aviation with marquee companies of the aerospace domain.

 

Vikram has been with GE Aviation since 2012. He has been leading the company’s commercial engines business since 2017.

 

His leadership has helped establish a solid footprint for GE Aviation in South Asia including by garnering the world’s largest single engine order from IndiGo.

 

Prior to joining GE, he worked with Rolls-Royce as General Manager South Asia and early in his career lead a core team in HBE Aviosec that was responsible for implementing Communication/Navigation/Surveillance/Terminal equipment in 50+ airports across India.

Deepesh Nanda is the CEO for GE Gas Power Systems in South Asia. He is based in India and is responsible for GE’s business in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Nowshad joined GE in 2010 as Country Manager GE Energy and led the growth of the business in Bangladesh across all P&L under the then Energy portfolio. In line with the business realignment his role was refocused on GE Power & Water in 2012 and from 2015 on Gas Power Systems.

An alumnus of Eastern University Dhaka, Bangladesh and Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, where he completed MBA and Bachelor of Technology (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering respectively, Nowshad began his career with ABB in 1985 where he grew from the ranks of Sales Manager to General Manager, Bangladesh, before taking up the GE assignment. A prolific football player, Nowshad represented IIT KGP in the highly competitive West Bengal university football league.
