GE drives the world forward by tackling its biggest challenges, bringing real progress and possibility to every corner of the planet —safely delivering people where they need to go; powering homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses; and offering more precise diagnostics and care when patients need it most.

2022 marks 130 years for GE, with GE UK & Ireland employing ~8500 people. As a large exporter, GE occupies over 20 sites across the country and contracts thousands of UK based suppliers.

We continue to drive innovation across the UK and Ireland, from testing the world’s largest wind turbine, the Haliade-X, in Northumberland; handling the world’s largest and most fuel efficient aviation engine, GE9X, in Wales; to supplying around 2 in 3 NHS hospitals nationwide with medical imaging equipment; and providing propulsion systems for the UK’s largest ever naval vessel, the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier.
