For over 125 years, GE has been investing and growing its presence across Europe.

With over 92,000 employees, 900 locations, annual revenues of €19 billion and activities in numerous key sectors including aviation, energy generation and management, healthcare and additive manufacturing, GE plays a vital role to drive growth and competitiveness in the continent.

The company continues to build its technology base in Europe. In the last 3 years 60% of the value of all of GE’s major acquisitions, accounting for €18 billion, has stayed in Europe. Alstom will be the largest acquisition in GE’s history. GE acquired the German Arcam and Concept Laser (€549 million) and Swedish LM Power (€1.65 billion) in the past two years.

Europe is a hub of innovation for GE with over 20 industry focused R&D centers across the continent. A third of the company’s annual €5billion R&D budget is invested in Europe and approximately 30% of GE’s global patents are filed in the region. GE in Europe has 15,000 technologists with over 30 industries focused research centers.
