About Navigation

The left navigation menu in APM lists the names of microapps, or modules, that users can select to navigate within the application.

Examples of modules in the left navigation menu include Dashboard, Alerts, and Analytics.

The left navigation menu has initial or default module and navigation settings. As a product designer, you can modify modules and the navigation to fit the product requirements for your tenant. You can perform the following modifications to the left navigation menu:
  • Reorder modules in the left navigation menu
  • Reorder subnavigation under a module
  • Rename modules
  • Rename subnavigation under a module
  • Hide/Show modules
  • Change the landing module

You can also reset any changes to the navigation settings to the default settings.

Modify Navigation Settings

As a product designer, you can customize the left navigation menu to fit the requirements for your tenant.

You can also reset any custom navigation settings to the default settings.

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Extensibility Tool.
    The Extensibility Tool page appears.
  2. Select Left Navigation Menu.
  3. To rename a module:
    1. Select the current module name.
    2. Enter a new name for the module.
    3. Select outside of the field.
  4. Use the Up () and Down () icons in the Sequence column to change the left navigation menu sequence.
  5. To rename a module subnavigation item:
    1. Select the current subnavigation item.
    2. Type a new name for the item.
    3. Tab out of the field.
  6. To change subnavigation sequence under a module:
    1. Select the Down () icon next to a module name to display the subnavigation.
    2. Point your cursor over the subnavigation icon () and move the subnavigation item up or down to change the subnavigation sequence.
  7. To show or hide modules in the left navigation menu:
    1. Select the check box in the Visible column to show a module.
    2. Clear the check box in the Visible column to hide a module
  8. To specify the module that opens when the user initially signs in, select the radio button in the Landing Module column.
  9. To reset any customized navigation settings:
    1. Select Reset.
      A message appears, asking if you are sure you want to reset to default navigation.
    2. Select Yes.
  10. Select one of the following.
    • Apply to save your left navigation menu changes.
    • Publish to save your left navigation menu changes and create a new version of the product.

Log out of the tenant and log back in to verify your changes.
