The Production Lines pane can optionally appear on the Production Analysis page.
The Production lines pane contains various rows, depending on how many lines have been created. The color of each label corresponds to the color of the line on the analysis. For example, our bottled water production process has the following lines specified on the analysis, therefore:
Demonstrated: The Demonstrated Line for the current analysis.
Custom: The Custom Line that represents the projected goal in 2007 for the current analysis.
Nameplate:The Nameplate Line for the current analysis.
For each row, the Production Lines pane provides the following columns:
Name: The names of the production lines that exist in the analysis.
Beta: The Beta value for the line. In a Production Analysis, the Beta value indicates how reliable the production process is. The closer the line is to vertical, the higher the Beta value. AhigherBeta value indicateslessvariation in the production process (more reliable); alowerBeta value indicatesmorevariation in the production process (less reliable). You can use the following general guidelines to evaluate the production process according to the Beta value.
Eta: The Eta value for the line. In a Production Analysis, the Eta value represents where the line crosses the y-axis at 36.8% Reliability.
You can manually change the Beta and Eta values by clicking in any Beta and Eta value field, deleting the current value, and defining a different one.
Hint: To export the data from the Production Lines pane, right-click the window and click Copy Production Lines Data. After the values have been copied, they can be pasted into other applications, such as Microsoft Excel.
