Citizenship

At GE, being a good corporate citizen is more than a program or a set of good intentions. It’s a full-time commitment to finding sustainable solutions to benefit the planet, its people and the economy. It’s embedded in our culture and our business strategy. It’s working to solve some of the world's biggest challenges. It inspires our thinking and drives actions.

GE Canada and Actua

GE Canada is a National Cornerstone partner with Actua, a national charitable organization dedicated to providing hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education to young Canadians. Actua delivers summer camps, workshops, and community programs to youth across the country through a growing network of members, many located in universities across Canada. The organization engages over 225,000 young people in 500 communities nationwide.

GE employees are always eager to engage with Actua, contributing as volunteer mentors, helping to develop project ideas, participating in fundraising initiatives and hosting Actua programs at GE facilities.

Mining Minds with Actua

Actua’s innovative “Mining Minds” program inspires youth to explore Canada’s resource industry. Workshop sessions and day camps are offered by undergraduate students in science, engineering and technology fields from universities across Canada. The students bring their knowledge and enthusiasm to the program, acting as mentors for the youth they reach.
