GE ASEAN currently employs more than 8,000 employees across the region in 36 office locations and 27 other sites. Training and development is an important part of GE’s unrelenting focus on its people, and it has invested about $25 million in programs for employees which include about 150 interns and over 100 people on leadership programs as well as close to 400 customers in the region.
Examples of the program are Leadership Programs, the RISE program, and internships. GE employs and engages a strong multi-racial work force across the region. While we see diversity as much broader than gender diversity – including, but not restricted to diversity in thinking, ethnicity, geography, culture, to name a few. That said, we are currently focused on driving gender diversity at the work place as a key agenda item, and currently stands at around 30%. GE is also committed to improving the health, safety and well-being of its employees with a variety of programs such as Healthahead, annual preventative screenings and access to healthy meals, gyms and sports related activities.
