Higher Quality
Along with location, price and floor plan, quality of design and construction is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a new home.
That’s why all these homes pass a strict inspection process to ensure their construction is to the highest possible standards.
Quality of Design
Each Home Inspired by ecomagination undergoes a thorough review by the Environments For Living® (EFL) program before construction begins.
This review projects the home’s future energy requirements and ensures there are appropriate specifications for many of the home’s key technologies, such as insulation, windows, lighting and appliances. Most notably, the review inspects the home’s engineering to ensure its heating and cooling systems are “right-sized”.
Did you know? A recent study funded by the U.S. Department of Energy found that homeowners who purchased homes certified by Environments For Living® are significantly more satisfied with their home’s performance than homeowners who purchased conventional homes.Source: Advanced Energy
Quality of Construction
These homes are then inspected for quality three times during construction — once after heating and cooling is installed, again after insulation is installed and a third and final time after all construction is finished. They are then awarded several third-party qualifications, including ENERGY STAR® Qualified New Home designation and the Environments For Living® “Certified Green” certification.
