There are approximately 15,200 employees covered by the 2011-2015 Contract. International Union of Electronic Workers/Communications Workers of America (IUE-CWA) represents approximately 7,900 of these employees and covers major company locations such as Louisville, KY (GE Appliances); Lynn, MA (GE Aviation); and Schenectady, NY (GE Energy). United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America (UE) represents about 3,140 employees and covers locations including Erie, PA (GE Transportation); and Fort Edward, NY (GE Energy). The remaining 4,000+ employees are represented by a variety of unions with local labor agreements.

The 2011-2015 Contract continues to provide our employees with excellent pay and benefits. It is based on current and projected economic realities with provisions that will keep our businesses competitive going forward.

GE has good relationships with union leaders at both the local and national levels. We have successfully negotiated thirteen national contracts and many more local contracts over the past three decades.

GE Union Members Vote 'Yes' on New Four-Year Contracts

The members of GE's two largest unions have voted to approve new four-year national labor contracts with GE. Union officials informed GE that voting by members of IUE-CWA and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) was completed Wednesday, and that the national agreements have been ratified.

GE, Unions Announce Details of Proposed Labor Contracts

GE and its two largest unions, IUE-CWA and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) today announced details of the proposed four-year labor agreements that will be voted on by union members by June 30, 2011.
