GE's History in Thailand

GE's presence in ASEAN dates back to April 1890 when GE's predecessor, Thomson-Houston Electric Company, installed the first electric streetlights in Manila, Philippines. From 1900 onward the company steadily increased its commitment to other countries in ASEAN. The company’s relationship with Thailand began when it sold light bulbs. For over a century, GE has provided products and services in the energy, healthcare, water and transportation sectors, whilst also servicing the region in the fields of finance and media. Today, GE is one of Thailand’s largest foreign investors with investments totaling more than US$1billion.
