Cristian Valentin Colteanu joined GE as Regional Executive for Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova starting September 2007.

Aged 58, Cristian Colteanu is the former Ambassador of Italy between 2003 and 2007. Also, during this period he was the Ambassador of Romania in the Republic of Malta and the Republic of San Marino. As a result of his impressive activity, he was awarded with several medals of honour.

He accumulated extensive experience in the government sector as Secretary of State, National Coordinator of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe and National Coordinator of Southeast European Cooperative Initiative in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 2000 to 2003.

In the industrial field, Cristian Colteanu has worked as an adviser and representative of the Ansaldo Group of Companies in Bucharest for approximate 15 years (1986-2000).

Prior to that, Colteanu was in charge of US Desk, Masinexport Trade Company from 1978 to 1983 when he was nominated Representative for Masinexport Trade Company in Romania to the United States, Embassy of Romania, Commercial Section in New York, United States.

Cristian Colteanu graduated the Polytechnics Institute, Bucharest, Romania and he holds a Bachelor of Science in machine - tools. Also, he followed various trainings in Foreign Trade, International Economic Cooperation, Human Resources, International Finance and Political Environment.

He is fluent in English, Italian and French.
