Yew Teck (William) Tan

PhD, Robotics (National University of Singapore)

William Tan is currently working as a Lead Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineer, Robotic Breakout, GE Research, USA. 

Previously, William Tan was a Research Scientist at the Applied Research Center, at the Florida International University, USA. Before that, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow working at the Autonomous Systems, Control and Optimization (ASCO) Lab at the Johns Hopkins University.

William is passionate about mobile robotic systems. He envisions a team of heterogenous robotic systems working together autonomously to perform challenging tasks. His current research interests include autonomous robotic systems for structural inspection and monitoring, cooperative positioning, adaptive sampling for environmental sensing and monitoring, and collaborative heterogeneous robotic systems. 

Apart from the research interests, William also has a passion for traveling, photography, sailing and technology. Whenever time permits, he also likes a good game of badminton, squash or table tennis.
