Tiffany Westendorf

Tiffany Westendorf leads the Edison Engineering Development Program at GE Research. In this role she oversees all aspects of the program, including recruiting top MS graduates into the program, facilitating rotational assignments and technical training for on-program Edisons, and transitioning program graduates into off-program roles within GE.  The mission of the Edison Engineering Development Program is to develop the next generation of engineering researchers, through challenging interdisciplinary project assignments and technical and leadership training experiences.

In her previous role as Senior Engineer at GE Research, she led R&D programs benefiting GE's businesses in Power, Oil & Gas, Healthcare, Plastics, Renewable Energy, and Aviation.  Most recently, she led a $4 million project with the US Department of Energy to develop a bench-scale prototype of a novel carbon capture process.

Tiffany joined GE Research in 2004, after having worked in refinery/chemical plant optimization with ExxonMobil Chemical.  She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Columbia University.  She is a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Level II TRIZ Practitioner.  Tiffany co-leads the NY Capital District Hub of the GE Womens Network, which provides programming and networking opportunities that promote professional development of the women (and men) of GE.

Tiffany lives in Latham, NY with her husband (Aaron) and children (Esther, Everett, and Emerson).  She enjoys playing soccer, reading, and knitting.
