Imaging Technologies Lab - Bangalore

Changing the Landscape

The team from India works to develop the next breakthroughs in imaging areas that will improve the way clinicians, radiologists and other technicians work, and differentiate GE businesses and products as industry leaders.

The Imaging Technologies Lab’s primary focus is to define and deliver the next-generation clinical, advanced applications portfolio to the GE Healthcare business. Specifically, the team is focused on technology development in the areas of segmentation, registration, automatic detection, visualization, measurement, and analysis.

One of the key successes have been in the development of AutoBone, a product that provides an automatic, rapid bone removal from CTA for vascular prescriptions, labeling, and aneurism tracking. The other core area is multi-modality based diagnosis and disease management; deployment of fast and accurate fusion techniques for PET/CT, MR/CT, are some noteworthy examples. The group is also working on realizing image analysis value in magnetic resonance (MR) applications and in the interventional setting.

The Imaging Technologies team develops tools that significantly enhance the productivity of radiologists in diagnosis, prognosis and therapy. These tools automate selective enhancement of image features to emphasize the relevant anatomical information while adaptively suppressing the obstructive features. The group also adds extensive value in extracting and building explicit models of anatomical regions for measurement and analysis.
