The Visualization and Computer Vision Lab conducts research across a broad and constantly evolving set of applications emphasizing video surveillance, biometrics, industrial inspection, entertainment as well as medical and biological image analysis. In addressing these challenges, we invent algorithms that extract information out of images and video. Our primary concern is that our research enhances GE products. We publish more than 40 peer-reviewed publications each year derived from our research on segmentation, registration, tracking, detection and recognition. Our technology goes into imaging devices to enhance GE products, such as intelligent video cameras, medical scanners and optical gauges. Working closely with several GE businesses, multiple government agencies, and teaming with leading academic institutions, we are pioneering the commercialization of computer vision. |
