Centrally situated between the cities of Albany, Schenectady and Latham, the site of GE Global Research at Niskayuna is just minutes from Albany International Airport, the NY State Thruway and the Massachusetts Turnpike.

 

From the Albany International Airport

  • Exit Albany International Airport parking lot and turn right onto Albany-Shaker Road. Proceed on Albany-Shaker Road 1.7 miles to Route 7 (Troy-Schenectady Road).
  • Turn left (West) onto Route 7. Proceed 4.2 miles to Union Street.
  • Bear right onto Union Street. At first light, turn right onto BalltownRoad. Proceed to the first traffic light (Van Antwerp Road). Bear right onto Van Antwerp Road.
  • Follow Van Antwerp Road to the traffic circle/rotary. Proceed half way around the circle to GE Global Research entrance.
  • Visitor Center parking to the right of the guard house before the main.
  • Sign in with the receptionist (have ready the name and phone number of the person you are going to visit).

From South Via NY State Thruway

  • Take NY State Thruway to Exit 25. Exit the Thruway at Exit 25 (Route 890).
  • Take Route 890 North. Exit Route 890 at Exit 7 (Route 7 East). Follow Route 7 East for approximately 1.8 miles until you reach the intersection of Route 7 and BalltownRoad/Route 146.
  • At traffic light, take left onto BalltownRoad/Route 146. Continue on BalltownRoad/Route 146 for approximately 1.9 miles to River Road. Turn right onto River Road.
  • Go 0.5 mile to traffic circle. Proceed three-fourths of way around circle to the GEGlobal Research entrance. Enter Reception Area Parking to right of Guard House. Sign in with receptionist. Have ready the name of the person you are visiting and, if possible, his or her phone number.

From the East Via Mass Pike and NY State Thruway (Interstate 90)

  • Take the Mass Pike (Interstate 90) into New York State. Take the B1 Exit. (Interstate 90 splits at this point.) Continue West on Interstate 90 to Albany. Enter the NY State Thruway at Exit 24.
  • Continue West on the Thruway/Interstate 90 to Exit 25. Exit the Thruway/Interstate 90 at Exit 25 (Route 890).
  • Take Route 890 North. Exit Route 890 at Exit 7 (Route 7 East). Follow Route 7 East for approximately 1.8 miles until you reach the intersection of Route 7 and BalltownRoad/Route 146.
  • At traffic light, take left onto Balltown Road/Route 146. Continue on BalltownRoad/Route 146 for approximately 1.9 miles to River Road. Turn right onto River Road.
  • Go 0.5 mile to traffic circle. Proceed three-fourths of way around circle to GE Global Research entrance.

From the West Via NY State Thruway (Interstate 90)

  • Take NY State Thruway (Interstate 90 East) to Exit 25 (Route 890). Take Route 890 North.
  • Exit Route 890 at Exit 7 (Route 7). Follow Route 7 East for approximately 1.8 miles until you reach the intersection of Route 7 and BalltownRoad/Route 146 . At traffic light, take left on to BalltownRoad/Route 146.
  • Continue onBalltownRoad/Route 146 for approximately 1.9 miles to River Road.
  • Turn right onto River Road. Go 0.5 mile to traffic circle.
