GE's New Zealand Businesses
GE New Zealand employs around 600 people and operates through four business segments servicing an array of diverse markets and customers.
Technology Infrastructure includes Healthcare, Aviation, Enterprise Solutions and Transportation. Major customers of GE Aviation include Air New Zealand and Virgin Blue. GE Healthcare equipment can be found in hospitals in New Zealand, both private and public and more than 90% of all surgery is anaesthetized by GE equipment.
Energy Infrastructure, includes Water & Process Technologies, Energy and Oil & Gas. GE Energy has installed the first of its LMS100 (an ecomagination certified product) sale in A&NZ region in Stratford Power Station. These units are the world’s most effective open cycle gas turbine and supplies enough power for 100,000 average homes.
Capital responsibly offers a range of consumer finance products to 450,000 customers. GE Capital is one of the largest lenders to the middle market sector and has funding relationships with many iconic brands including Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming Group, Mitre 10 and BBQ Factory.
NBC Universal is GE’s media arm and operates through CNBC, which broadcasts relevant business news 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as well as the marketing and distribution of Universal release films and DVDs.
