STAMFORD, Conn. and TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 2005--GE's Energy Financial Services unit is bolstering its global power team with the appointment of two senior investment originators. Peter J. Marquis joins as managing director, based in Stamford, and Jamie Manson boards as senior vice president in Toronto.
"These two experienced professionals will add their considerable industry relationships and expertise to help us grow in at least two ways: capitalizing on new US energy policy that may create more US power investment opportunities; and investing in replacement and upgrade of power plants and in renewable energy in Canada," said Leanne Bell, Managing Director for Power at GE's Energy Financial Services unit.
Marquis brings 12 years of investment banking experience in energy mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance from Lazard, Morgan Stanley, SG Barr Devlin and Smith Barney. A former US Navy officer, Marquis holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He resides in Darien, Connecticut.
Manson worked in capital markets and project finance for 15 years at Republic Financial, New York Life, Banque Paribas and CIBC. He holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame, with a concentration in Finance and International Relations. He resides in Ajax, Ontario.
