WHAT:

GE today launched "Imagination Nation" at Union Station. From March 10th - March 19th, the exhibit will showcase break-through technologies in health, security, transportation and the environment that shape the way we live, work and play - now and in the future.

Exhibit highlights will include:

The GE90 - According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the GE90 is the "World's Most Powerful Commercial Jet Engine." The engine combines innovations from GE, NASA and the military with advanced technology to enable planes to fly farther, faster and more efficiently than ever before.

smart(TM) Roadster - The first car to feature LEXAN SLX, a plastic film that will replace the need for paint on cars and can withstand scratches, sun damage, and fading.

Lightspeed(R) - A cutting-edge medical imaging system that produces ultra high-resolution pictures of internal anatomy with increased speed and better resolution, eliminating the need for invasive surgery.

The GE Evolution - The most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient diesel locomotive to ever put power to the rails.

EntryScan(3) - A revolutionary explosives detection system: non-intrusive and walk-through, it is designed to keep us safe by detecting explosives concealed on the body of individuals passing through checkpoint security.

H-Turbine - The largest and most advanced gas turbine in the world and powerful enough to provide electricity to nearly half a million American homes, the H-Turbine is an entirely new breed of high efficiency power systems that use less fuel and generate fewer emissions.

WHY:

From finding new ways to power the world, to creating better ways to protect America's people and our infrastructure, to developing medical imaging technologies that will revolutionize the hospitals of the future, GE people worldwide are dedicated to turning imaginative ideas into leading products and services that help solve some of the world's toughest problems.

At Imagination Nation, visitors will have the opportunity to experience imaginative ideas at work.
