BIOGRAPHY

Vikram Rai is the CEO, South Asia, GE Aerospace. As business leader with over 19 years of experience in the civil aerospace sector, covering both airlines and airports, Vikram is responsible for growing GE’s footprint in India and South Asia.

Vikram joined GE Aviation in 2012, and leads the company’s commercial engines business since 2017. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in Commercial Aviation with marquee companies in the aerospace industry. His leadership has helped GE Aviation establish a solid footprint in South Asia, including garnering the world’s largest single-engine order from IndiGo airlines.

Before joining GE, Vikram was the General Manager at Rolls-Royce responsible for business development across South Asia. Earlier, he held roles of increasing responsibilities at HBE – Aviosec, a start-up in the airports and broadcasting domain, from 2002 to 2007.

Vikram hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Ramtek, Nagpur University, India. He was named in The Economic Times’ ‘40 Under Forty’ list of “India’s Hottest Business Leaders” in 2021.

Vikram enjoys playing cricket when he can find the time. He is married to Dr Arpita Mahajan Rai, an Assistant Professor of Anatomy. They have a son, Aadit Raj Rai.
