GE Triveni- A Fruitful Partnership
GE Triveni (GET) is a joint venture formed in 2010 by GE and the Indian firm Triveni Engineering & Industries. The 50/50 partnership offers a large portfolio of 30 MW to 100MW steam turbine products. While the turbines are manufactured in the state-of-the-art Triveni Turbine plant in Bangalore, they are marketed globally under the GE Triveni brand name.
GE provides research and development support at the Bangalore turbine manufacturing facility through its well developed R&D infrastructure. GE's highly developed R&D network ensures that GET can access cutting edge technology for product design and manufacture. In addition, GE's proficiency in the design process ensures the joint venture remains innovative and the GE brand name boosts marketing efforts. For its part, Triveni's low-cost supply chain and demonstrated manufacturing capability provide a competitive edge in cost and quality.
Since 2005, India has accounted for approximately 20 percent of global steam turbine revenues, and market experts expect that India and China together will account for 60 percent of the total global steam turbine revenue growth through 2020. Given the growth prospects for the local market, the Indian steam turbine sector is extremely competitive. That's why GE Triveni leverages the Triveni supply chain and GE technical expertise, allowing the joint venture to provide customers with best-in-class technology at a competitive price point.
