In his role as Regional General Manager, Prashant leads around 2,000 employees and engineers in driving business growth. He is responsible for developing and delivering regional business strategy that offers customers the technology, knowledge and insight they need to manage the lifecycle of their power plants. As Managing Director, GEPIL, Prashant is responsible for strategy and statutory requirements of the listed entity, which includes Steam Power, Hydro & Gas business in India.
Prashant has diverse experience in the industry and energy sector, including renewable energy, and has held management positions in Oil & Gas, Power, and Renewable Energy.
Before joining GE, Prashant led Power Generation Services for Siemens Limited. After years of sales and business development experience in India and the USA, he spent two years developing Strategy for the energy sector, followed by management positions in Turbo Compressors and Renewable energy.
Prashant holds an MBA from the European School of Management & Technology (ESMT), Berlin, Germany. He graduated in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University, India. He has also attended management programs at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad in India.
He is an active voice in various trade bodies and forums to make power generation affordable, sustainable, and reliable.
