Banmali Agrawala is the President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Energy – India Region and is a Corporate Officer of the General Electric Company.
In his current role , Banmali is responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategies and growth plans across GE Energy India’s consolidated portfolio of businesses.

 

Prior to his current position, Banmali was most recently with The Tata Power Company Limited, as Executive Director – Strategy and Business Development and a member of the Board Of Directors. He was also a member of the Board of other Tata Group Companies and JVs such as Tata Projects , Tata BP Solar , Maithon Power , Dagachhu Power , Geodynamics , KPC and Arutmin Coal Companies.


Previously, Banmali was the Managing Director of Wartsila India Limited , a listed Company in India and a Member of the Wartsila Global Power Plant Management Team. His career with Wartsila spanned over 21 years including a five year assignment in Finland.


Banmali is an active member of the Confederation Of Indian Industries (CII) the premier Industry association in India. He has held various official positions within CII such as Chairman of the Western Regional Council , elected Member of the National Council , Chairman of the National Committee on Power and Chairman of the Maharashtra State Council.


He has attended the most prestigious schools of India, the Scindia School, Gwalior and Loyola High School, Pune. He completed his graduation in BE, Mechanical Engineering with distinction from the Mangalore University. Banmali is also an alumni of the Advanced Management Programme of the Harvard Business School.
