Communications Director GE India
Purnima is the Communications Director for GE India. She is responsible for the company’s overall reputation and brand management comprising marketing communications, media engagement, employee communications and corporate citizenship. She joined GE in 2001 as the Communications Leader for GE in India. In addition, Purnima served as the first Region Leader for the GE Women’s Network.
Prior to GE, Purnima began her career with MCI Communications in the US and then moved to John Wiley Publishing in India. She has a diverse background in the fields of marketing communications, public relations and promotions with companies like Oracle and Alcatel. Additionally, she has worked in the advertising industry with Saatchi & Saatchi’s India affiliate and helped set up a public relations company.
Purnima was born in Mumbai, India and attended the University of Delhi, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She is married and has two children. In her free time, Purnima enjoys spending time with her family, reading and music.
