| Lorenzo Simonelli is President and CEO of GE - Consumer & Industrial (Europe, Middle East & Africa), and is based in Budapest, Hungary. He was appointed to his current position in January 2007. Lorenzo started his career with Mitsubishi Bank in International & Corporate Finance and joined GE in July 1994. He is a graduate of the Financial Management Program (FMP) with assignments in GE International; GE Shared Services; Nuovo Pignone and Consolidated Financial Insurance in a variety of financial and operational roles. In 1997, he joined the Corporate Audit Staff and had assignments in Asia, Europe and the U.S. around both financial and process improvement areas. He progressed to be Executive Audit Manager for European Industrial Businesses in 2001. In 2002, Lorenzo joined Consumer Products, spending time initially in Cleveland, Ohio and then Louisville, Kentucky as the Financial Planning and Analysis manager, and in April 2004, he became CFO Americas for Consumer & Industrial. In 2005, Lorenzo was appointed to General Manager, Product Management for Appliances, Lighting, Electrical Distribution and Motors. He is a Business & Economics Graduate from Cardiff University.
