Leslaw Kuzaj is the CEO for CE (Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary). In 2010 the company managed to perform well in the changing economic environment both globally, as well as in CE where it employs 25,000 associates. In 2010 GE's destination sales in CE countries reached $3.3 B. This clearly shows that the technology and financial solutions offered by GE match perfectly with the needs of the customers in the quickly developing and growing CE region.

Our ecomagination products and initiatives help Central Europe, as it builds and modernizes its infrastructure in areas such as transportation, water treatment as well as energy generation and efficiency. Our affordable green energy solutions can help the ongoing modernization of rural areas enabling leapfrog while largely contributing to meeting CO2 regulations within the EU. Through healthymagination, we are working to deliver cost-effective, high quality healthcare in cancer, stroke, neonatal care and other priority areas.

Poland

GE has a strong and continuing commitment to Poland since 1992 with 10,000 talented employees today across 8 major locations.

The GE Engineering Design Center (EDC), employing over 1,000 people, is one of the most advanced engineering centres of GE Businesses like Aviation, Energy and Oil & Gas. One great example of GE products that EDC is working on is our new GEnx aircraft engine that is partly designed in Poland in partnership with the Institute of Aviation (Warsaw) founded in 1926. This new solution will deliver 15 percent better fuel consumption helping operators to improve their performance and decrees environmental footprint helping them to meet today’s and tomorrow’s legislation. With more than 1,100 engines sold to date, the GEnx is the fastest-selling engine in GE's history.

Since 1990, GE has been one of the most important foreign corporations that successfully make business and grow in the Czech Republic.Today, most of business and service units are well represented, providing service to their clients through bank branches, dealers, retailers and a wide network of distributors.

GE Money is the biggest business unit in the Czech Republic, offering a wide spectrum of financial services and products.

In 2008, GE Aviation finalized the acquisition of selected assets operated by the Czech producer of small turboprop engines and parts for aerospace industry, Walter Engines, a.s. This acquisition expanded GE's offer for the clients in the aerospace industry and allowed GE to enter a segment, which has seen a dynamic development in recent years, i.e. the segment of small two-engine turboprop airplanes. The newly named organization GE Aviation’s Business & General Aviation Turboprops Walter Aircraft Engines has over a hundred-year tradition and it enjoys great reputation all over Europe for its robust and elegant aircraft engines.

Hungary

Since late 1989 GE has been one of the most significant multinationals operating in Hungary. Today all five GE core businesses are active in the country. Currently GE is the largest U.S. investor and employer (13,000+) and one of the biggest exporters of Hungary, while as a customer has a key supplier base of 2,000+. As a supplier, GE’s 21st century energy, transportation, healthcare, water and lighting solutions can help Hungary to develop and increase its competitiveness.
