About the Test

GE's Computer Science Contest is open to individual students and teams (3 students per team) from all public, private and parochial high schools in Connecticut. Sponsored by GE Volunteers, the event is designed to identify and recognize students who are proficient using Java and help them prepare for the Advanced Placement Test in Computer Science scheduled in May.

The 90-minute test, based on an introduction to computer science curriculum using Java, is prepared by professors from the School of Engineering at University of Connecticut.

The tests are scored within 45 minutes after completion and prizes are awarded to the schools of the top three teams as well as to the top ten students.
