Developing Futures

The GE Foundation is addressing the education imperative by supporting high-impact initiatives that improve the access, equity and quality of public education. The Developing Futures in Education(TM) program (which encompasses the GE College Bound program) is one such initiative, created to increase student achievement and college readiness among high school students. The program is being expanded with a grant investment of more than $100 million in targeted U.S. school districts. The districts below are the first to benefit from these multiyear grants.

Dialogue on Globally Competitive Standards

Based on learnings from its work with school districts across the country, the GE Foundation has begun fostering a dialogue on the advantages of globally competitive standards in math and science. They have engaged several national experts and state policymakers- including the National Governors Association, the National Science Teachers Association and Achieve, Inc.- to consider the issue and exchange ideas.
