    Geoff Culbert (voiceover):
The commitment by the company to the development of its employees is, I don't think, matched anywhere else.
Taking 50 senior executives out of their day jobs to study growth opportunities in a new market.
After these three weeks away, rubbing shoulders with such a talented group of people, you come away with a different perspective, with deeper understanding and learnings, and you are improved as a professional.
  2. Montage of shots from Nairobi, Kenya, including urban street scenes and the outskirts of the city. Medium Close Shot – Geoff Culbert. Title on bottom of video reads, "Geoff Culbert, General Counsel, GE Commercial Finance, Asia" Montage of shots from Nairobi, Kenya, including cityscapes, traffic scenes, people getting into cars. Also footage from a meeting with the Kenyan Prime Minister.

    Geoff Culbert (continued):
You've got to be here on the ground to really understand what's going on in the country. You can conceptualize it, you can talk about it in the classroom, but until you actually get down here and get a sense of what is going on, you really can’t understand what their needs are.
It's not every day that you spend three weeks in Africa. We're talking about a continent that has a billion people. We're talking about a continent that has massive infrastructure needs that GE can service. Just yesterday I met with the prime minister of Kenya. The day before that I met with the CEO of Kenya Airways. I would never have imagined that I would ever be in this situation.
  3. Medium Close Shot – Nara Narasimhan. Title on bottom of video reads, "Nara Narasimhan, Chief Financial Officer, Asia Growth Markets, GE Healthcare" Montage of shots from Nairobi, Kenya, including urban street scenes, building construction and dirt roads on the outskirts of the city.

Nara Narasimhan (voiceover and on screen):
There are challenges when you want to scale up in a particular part of the world, but the key is to understand the challenges and show you're consistent with your overall culture and principals. You look at infrastructure, water, power, healthcare, transportation — and what Africa needs is what we can offer now.
  4. Medium Close Shot – John Butler. Title on bottom of video reads, "John Butler, Global Sourcing Leader for VectoGray, GE Oil & Gas". Montage of shots from Nairobi, Kenya, including a bustling urban street scene, building construction, and a mother holding her child.

John Butler (voiceover and on screen):
I definitely believe that this is a growth market and an emerging market. Everyone is really working hard to make more out of their life than they've had in the past. That's a good market, I think, for GE to be in, because if you've got people that really want to grow, expand, make things better; well that's what GE is all about.

    Music In
Clara Gaymard (voiceover and on screen):
Leadership for me is to listen to the people, and not only the people on your team, but the people where you are. Understand your customer, understand the country where you are living. We want to be a partner of the country. We want to be a part of the solution of every country where we are.
  6. Montage of shots of class participants in boardrooms, working in teams, in conversation and on the road. Medium Close Shot – Sarah Hedger. Title on bottom of video reads, 2Sarah Hedger, General Manager of Business Development, GE Aviation"

Sarah Hedger (voiceover and on screen):
I think working with different people from different parts of GE, different nationalities, is actually half of why we're here. If everybody has the same idea you're never going to make much progress. There's a big difference in perspectives people bring — backgrounds and experience — and that helps us to move forward really fast.
  7. Medium Close Shot – Geoff Culbert. Montage of both indoor and outdoor shots including rural roads, traffic scenes and crowds of locals. Also shots of boardroom meetings and city skyscrapers.

Geoff Culbert (voiceover and on screen):
It's absolutely inspiring to be part of a complex challenge and it's absolutely inspiring to be part of a global issue. We've gone to places like China and India and Russia and South America but every place has a slightly different challenge and I think we're learning what those new challenges are and hopefully we'll come away with some good recommendations that the company will act upon.
  8. Montage of both indoor and outdoor shots including indoor meetings, busy street intersections, rural roads, traffic scenes and crowds of locals. Medium Close Shot – Nara Narasimhan. Fade Out to Black.

Nara Narasimhan (voiceover and on screen):
If you want to succeed as an organization, you need to learn from every experience. You have to be globally minded. Using my training in the classroom and translating it into something which I can practice, that's been a huge professional learning for me.
