Energy is one of the biggest challenges that we have today, and as a designer I think it's very important to design energy solutions.

Yves Behar, Founder, fuseproject:
The WattStation is a new way to provide energy and it's designed as a small, soft, and friendly dispenser of electricity that would be facing you as a user, but in a way that is very much about service. We created a very smooth and continuous shape that has a larger service area very much like a tray. The surfaces smoothly meet the ground. Snow won't stay on, or rain will slide off.
Yves Behar, Founder, fuseproject:
There's a lot of needs for people to see the product from afar. Let's say I'm driving around, and I need to know whether the station is available to charge my car, is in use, so we have a ring of LEDs that will change colors--red or green depending on whether it is available and functioning or not.
Yves Behar, Founder, fuseproject:
The WattStation has a very particular unique function, so we wanted it to be sort of its own icon. The collaboration with GE was very exciting because we are really working together as a team and finding the solutions of the near future.
