    Mike Bentley:
    Uh, we're here at the, uh, GE Aircraft Engines Facility in Evendale, Ohio.
  4. Fade in to Interior – GE Aircraft Engine Facility. Medium Close Shot – Brad Brougher. Fade to Black.

    Brad Brougher:
    We're producing roughly seventeen engines a week. That's two to three engines each day, and with that, each engine itself has about, about three thousand parts. And if you look at that as a total, that's roughly eighty thousand parts, and about twenty million dollars worth of hardware in this shop at any given time.

    Doug Reed:
    This is a, uh, combustor diffusal nozzle, they call it. Fuel comes in, gets ignited in here.

    Doug Reed:
    I've been at GE for twenty-eight years plus. Uh, I've been in assembly for over twenty years. And, uh, we just love what we do.
  7. Fade in to Medium Full Shot – Deborah Knight.

    Deborah Knight:
    Hey, I love this job. You know, and it's great pay, great benefits. Now that I know the job, I have a little fun doin' it.

    Deborah Knight:
    This core is- is done. And what we do is, after this, we take one of these stands, there is cores over there, and we just set it down. And then the next step, horizontal area over there, they put this core, which is the heart of the engine, and this is the thrust. This is where the power is at. And this is put on the engine itself.

    Eugene Stredrick, Junior:
    I'm an engineer by trade. I've been here about fifteen years. Uh, I've been in (unintelligible) and fifty-six for, uh, twelve of those years. And, uh, I've, um, it's kind of innovative because, now we're shipping our engines faster with less people with higher quality.

    We're a part of everybody's life in just about every country around the world. Now, what company can say that?

    We do quality work. And we put our self into every engine that we do here at Evendale.

    Two months ago I went to Hawaii. Me and my wife, we was in the airport, waitin', uh, to board the plane. And there was a few women askin' her, they sayin' that, uh, you know, they like, hope these are good engines on the plane. And my wife told the ladies, said, well, I'm pretty sure they are 'cause my husband checked 'em and they are GE engines and he builds 'em.

    It's a rush for me. I'm a aviation nut. I love aviation. That's why I love workin' here. There-- there's a sense of responsibility when you build these things. It's a great time to be in aviation.
