Based in Cairo, Egypt, Sofiane is responsible for leading GE’s growth in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and South Sudan.
Prior to GE, Sofiane was working for Schlumberger as the Vice-President & General Manager for all Schlumberger businesses in Sudan.
He began his career with TOTAL Oil Company in 1994 as a R&D Geophysicist. He then joined Schlumberger and has held a variety of R&D, technical support, field operations, sales & marketing and management positions across the globe. Before moving to the Sudan, Sofiane was the Business Development Manager in charge of Schlumberger’s re-entry strategy in Iraq.
Sofiane, a native of Tunis, Tunisia, holds a Masters of Engineering in Signal Processing and a Bachelor of Engineering in Physics with specializations in Instrumentation and Nuclear Physics from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble in France as well as a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Joseph Fourier at Grenoble in France.
